Nupur Asthana is a director & screenwriter who seamlessly straddles the worlds of cinema, television & OTT originals. She created, wrote & directed several television dramas like the cult teen series Hip Hip Hurray, Hubahu & Mahi Way. Both of Nupur’s feature films Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge & Bewakoofiyaan, produced by Yashraj Films dealt with issues of identity & relationships. On streaming she has directed an adaptation of Romeo & Juliet with an LGBTQ+ twist Romil & Jugal; Season 2 of the hugely popular Four More Shots Please; 2 shorts – The Couple as part of the anthology  Unpaused Naya Safar, & Cutting Chai for the anthology Modern Love Mumbai. Nupur is currently in development for her next feature film & an OTT series. Her stories often deal with a search for self, explore interpersonal relationships and usually centre around urban young people. The warmth, compassion and gentle humour that run through her work have won both hearts of audiences and critical acclaim.
