With over 35+ years of diverse industry experience, Rama has held prominent roles at NIIT Technologies, Microsoft, and General Electric, including Director at Microsoft Global Services and Vice President at GE India. Serving as Vice President at NASSCOM, she led key initiatives in Domestic IT, eGovernance, and Smart Cities. In her recent position as CEO of the Data Security Council of India, she orchestrated a Cyber Security Growth Strategy, propelling the industry to nearly $15 billion by 2022. 

Her notable achievements include establishing National CoE for Cyber Security Technology Development, partnership initiatives with the Ministry of Electronics & IT and state governments, and a Cyber Crime Investigation and Training Research Centre. She played a pivotal role as a member of the Justice Shrikrishna Data Protection Committee.  

She is the author of the edited volume “Digital++, Reimagining Security & Privacy” and has contributed to a research paper titled “Towards Trustworthy AI.” Currently, she serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Jio Finance and Jio Payment Solutions, sits on the Advisory Board of IIT Bombay Trust Lab, and provides strategic counsel to Dallas Venture Capital.
