Spiros Margaris is a venture capitalist (Margaris Ventures), futurist, keynote speaker, and board member. He is a senior advisor to – and investor in – several companies in the fintech, insurtech, cybersecurity, health care, and AI sectors. Two of the fintech start-ups he has advised have become unicorns (with valuations of over $1 billion).  

Spiros is the first international influencer to achieve “The Triple Crown” (No. 1 International FinTech, Blockchain, and AI influencer) ranking by Onalytica. In 2021, Onalytica named him The Key Opinion Leader in Fintech. Spiros Margaris, a top AI influencer, has been ranked as one since 2017 by multiple industry publications. In 2022, Onalytica ranked him again as the No. 1 Global FinTech Influencer, while Refinitiv (Thomson Reuters) ranked him as the No. 1 Finance Influencer.  

Spiros Margaris received an official letter from His Excellency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, in 2022 in recognition of his commendable efforts in encouraging India’s massive strides in financial technology (fintech). 

Spiros has been a keynote speaker at international fintech and insurtech conferences and has also given a TEDxAcademy Talk. He published a white paper on AI, “Machine learning in financial services: Changing the rules of the game,” for the enterprise software vendor SAP. In 2019, he was the first non-IBM keynote speaker at the largest IBM event in Europe, held at the IBM Systems Technical University.

Economic Disruption: We live in an era of disruption in which powerful global forces are changing how we live and work. Powerful disruptions are changing our world. The gig economy, remote work, and the sharing economy have disrupted traditional employment models. The new generation is often at the forefront of these economic changes, seeking flexibility and independence in their careers.

Technological Disruption: The new generation is witnessing rapid technological advancements and digital transformation. They are at the forefront of embracing and driving these changes, leading to disruptions in various industries. Examples include the rise of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the gig economy. Frontier technologies such as the Internet of Things, smart robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence are boosting productivity growth, raising prosperity, and replacing mundane or dangerous tasks.
