Rakesh K Singh is the Group Head – Investment Banking, Private Banking, International Banking, Digital Ecosystems and Banking as a Service (BaaS) at HDFC Bank. He has over 30 years of experience in managing Client Relationships, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Structured Finance, Leveraged Finance, Debt Restructuring, and managing Proprietary Investments. Before joining HDFC Bank, he worked with Rothschild, Morgan Stanley, DSP Merrill Lynch, Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Investment Bank.

Mr. Singh joined HDFC Bank in 2011 and has been instrumental in setting up the Investment Banking and Project Finance business for the Bank. In the Investment Banking business, the Bank is currently ranked #3 in INR Bonds by Bloomberg for H1 FY¥ 2024 and is amongst the top 10 ranked domestic banks for private sector IPOs and Rights Issues. The Bank is also ranked #3 amongst leading arranger of INR Loans by Bloomberg for HY 2024 and is a leader in lending for infrastructure projects across transportation, energy and other sectors.

The Private Banking business has significantly grown under his leadership and the bank now manages AUM of close to Rs. 5.37 lacs crores across over 75,000+ families in India and overseas. In the Global Private Banking Awards 2023 organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM) published by the Financial Times, HDFC Bank was adjudged as the Best Private Bank for Education and Training of Private Bankers (Asia), Best Private Bank for Growth Strategy (Asia) and Highly Commended in the Best Private Bank in India. In the Euromoney Private Banking and Wealth Management Survey for 2018, 2021 and 2022, HDFC Bank was ranked #1 Private Bank in the High Networth Super Affluent Clients & Mass Affluent Clients category respectively. HDFC Bank was adjudged Best Private Bank in India at the Global Private Banking Awards 2021, organised by Professional Wealth Management (PWM).

Mr. Singh is an MBA from Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad and has completed Technology Leadership Program with University of California (UC), Berkeley, USA. He also serves as a Nominee Director on the Board of National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL), as Trustee on the Board of Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action (SNEHA), as Committee Member – Cll National Committee on Banking and as a Member of the Steering Committee of Climate Finance Leadership Initiative (CFLI), India
