Richard Apostolik is President & CEO of the Global Association of Risk Professionals, Inc. (GARP).  Prior to joining GARP Rich worked with Bankers Trust’s (Deutsche Bank) Strategic Ventures group, focusing on financial risk initiatives to provide credit risk mitigation and management services to financial and energy companies.   

Prior to Bankers Rich was J.P. Morgan & Co.’s global head of energy brokerage activities and COO of its global listed product businesses.  Before joining JPMorgan ran his own consulting firm, providing advice to such firms as Deutsche Bank, Fuji Bank, Omega Advisors and J.P. Morgan in addition to starting up and running of S.G. Warburg & Co.’s North American futures and options business. 

Rich possesses MBA and JD degrees, and was an attorney with the US SEC, practiced law in Chicago and was the CME’s first House Counsel.
