Srinath Ravichandran
Srinath Ravichandran is the Co-founder and CEO of Agnikul Cosmos, a Chennai-based space-tech startup incubated at IIT Madras that is building affordable, on-demand launch services for small satellites. Trained as an electrical and electronics engineer from College of Engineering Guindy, he later completed a Master’s in Financial Engineering from Columbia University and spent several years on Wall Street managing complex risk and derivatives portfolios before returning to his childhood passion for space.
He went on to pursue aerospace engineering in the US, identifying a growing gap in dedicated access to space for small satellites, which eventually led to the founding of Agnikul in 2017 with his co-founders. Under his leadership, Agnikul is developing Agnibaan, a highly customizable small-lift launch vehicle powered by Agnilet, the world’s first single-piece 3D-printed semi-cryogenic rocket engine, and executed India’s first successful launch of a privately built rocket (Agnibaan SOrTeD) from Sriharikota in 2024.
