Dr. Rajni Kaushik

Dr. Kaushik, Head of Sustainability at Ashoka University, is a dedicated advocate for sustainability education, with over a decade of experience in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) across corporate, consulting, and academic sectors. She holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology from the National University of Singapore and has led impactful work with organizations such as Unilever, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and DRIIV, India.

She has co-authored the “Star” Rated Public Toilet Guidelines published by the Toilet Board Coalition (TBC), India, and contributed to global sanitation guidelines on biosolids. As a former Microbiological Lead at Unilever R&D, she played a key role in designing and testing the Pureit® water purifier.

At Ashoka, she leads the Office of Sustainability to integrate sustainability practices and considerations across operations, education, student and community engagement, and campus initiatives.

With nine international publications and a patent, she blends research and action to inspire the next generation of changemakers.
