Francesca Gatti is a seasoned expert in international development and security, with extensive experience in fragile contexts. Most recently, she served as a Security Sector Reform (SSR) Specialist and Gender Focal Point with the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). In this capacity, she provided strategic technical advice to national stakeholders and UN leadership, focusing on mainstreaming gender and addressing conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) concerns. Her work involved navigating complex political sensitivities to foster national ownership and build political will.
Francesca previously managed women’s empowerment and girls’ education initiatives for the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation in India, creating equal opportunities through skill development and education.
