H.E. MINN MINN

His Excellency Mr. Minn Minn currently serves as the Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Commerce in Myanmar, a position he was appointed to in September 2023. His academic qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce in Bangkok, a Bachelor of Arts (DSA) from the Defense Services Academy, and a Diploma in English from the Arts and Science University in Yangon.

H.E. Mr. Minn Minn has held several key positions in the Ministry of Commerce over his extensive career. Prior to his current role, he served as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce from 2020 to 2023, Director General of the Department of Trade from 2019 to 2020, Deputy Director General from 2013 to 2019,  Assistant Director to Deputy Director and then to Director of the Directorate of Trade by 2013. His career at the Ministry of Commerce began in 2001.

In addition to his official roles, Mr. Minn Minn has been actively involved in various significant activities. At that time, paper-based trading mechanisms were gradually changed to digital online systems. Moreover, for e-commerce development, he put efforts into setting up the necessary laws, regulations, and legal guidance with the cooperation of international organizations. He chaired the Working Committee for the Preparatory Committee of Trade Policy Review of Myanmar in 2012, leading to the successful completion of Myanmar’s first Trade Policy Review at the World Trade Organization (WTO) headquarters in Geneva in March 2014. He took the leading role in implementing the Tradenet 2.0 system. Moreover, he chairs the Aid for Trade Coordination Unit of the Ministry and oversees all Aid for Trade Projects under the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) and EU- funded projects.
