Luciano Rossi

Luciano Rossi is an accomplished politician and advocate for shooting sports, serving as a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and contributing significantly to the sport’s global development.

Born on June 25, 1953, in Foligno, Italy, Rossi excelled in Olympic Pistol shooting, achieving both an individual and a team European title in 1973. His passion for the sport paved the way for a career dedicated to its advancement.

Rossi joined the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) in 1998 as Vice President, a role he held until 2014. In his final term, he was the most-voted Vice President, reflecting his influence and dedication. During his tenure, he championed initiatives such as increasing female participation in sport and management and securing the inclusion of Clay Target Shooting in the International Military Sport Council (CISM).

On November 30, 2022, Rossi was elected ISSF President, marking a pivotal moment in the ISSF’s history. As President, Rossi has led the organization through key events, including the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, while also focusing on promoting shooting sports in Africa, South America and Asia; and increasing female representation.

Beyond the ISSF, Rossi is a member of the World Forum on Shooting Activities (WFSA) and has earned recognition for his contributions to the global growth of shooting sports.
