Sumita Dawra

Ms. Sumita Dawra joined Indian Administrative Service in 1991 and is currently posted as Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. Prior to this she served in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India facilitating work related to investments, logistics and infrastructure planning, including implementation of multimodal infrastructure planning on PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

She has a career span of more than 30 years, working at various levels of governance in the Central Government and the State, including exposure at international level, with varied experience in governance, covering economic & development sectors, infrastructure planning and finance, etc.

Ms. Dawra holds Masters and M.Phil degrees in Economics and a Master’s degree in Business Management from Punjab University, Chandigarh (India). She also holds an MBA in Public Policy from University of Birmingham (U.K.). She has several publications, including two bestselling books on public policy.
