Hon. Minister Dr. Jyoti Jeetun
Dr. Jyoti Jeetun is the Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning of the Republic of Mauritius since November 2024. She brings to this role over 25 years of senior leadership experience across financial services, investment banking, economic development, real estate development, and academia. Dr. Jeetun is driving a bold strategic path: first, to position Mauritius as a leading, trusted, and innovative International Financial Centre of repute and substance; and second, to build a competitive, sustainable, and future-ready economy, underpinned by a long-term national vision and a medium-term national development strategy that will shape the country’s economic and social trajectory for generations to come.
Previously Group CEO of Compagnie de Mont Choisy Limitée, she spearheaded the landmark transformation of the northern landscape of Mauritius through an integrated masterplan, delivering a championship golf course, luxury residential developments, and a flagship Smart City project currently underway.
Her career spans senior roles at Tier 1 global investment banks namely BNP Paribas, Barclays Capital, and Merrill Lynch Bank of America in London. She also served as Deputy Director of the Brussels-based Centre for the Development of Enterprise, a joint EU-ACP organisation promoting private sector development across 79 ACP countries.
A pioneer in economic democratisation, Dr. Jeetun was the founding CEO of the Sugar Investment Trust and founding Chairman of the Mauritius Post and Cooperative Bank. She holds a PhD in Strategy and Accounting and MBA from Warwick Business School (UK) and is known for her unwavering commitment to ethics, integrity and public service.
Dr. Jyoti Jeetun left her executive career in the private sector to join public life in 2024.
