Co-Founder, Eon Space Labs

Punit Badeka is the Co-founder of Eon Space Labs, a pioneering Indian deep-tech startup specializing in advanced optical and infrared imaging systems for space and terrestrial applications. Eon Space Labs is focused on making high-quality Earth observation and surveillance capabilities accessible through innovative, miniaturized, and entirely ‘Made in India’ payload designs. Punit drives the company’s product strategy, leveraging his 5+ years of experience in precision ultra manufacturing technology for optical components. His background is critical in translating high-end engineering into scalable commercial products.

The company’s key payloads include:

  • MIRA Space Payload: This is Eon Space Labs’ space-qualified miniaturized optical telescope. It is currently scheduled for launch by June 2026. The company had a prior opportunity to fly the same payload on ISRO PSLV C62 on January 12, which, unfortunately, did not proceed as expected. This strong engagement with national launch capabilities highlights the company’s trajectory in India’s private space-tech sector.
  • EO/IR Payloads (Lumira Series): These Electro-Optical and Infrared systems are utilized for day and night surveillance on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)/Drones and ground-based installations, supporting critical applications like border and coastal surveillance and infrastructure inspection.
