Ramakrishnan M (Ram) has ~25 years of experience across Consulting, Agriculture and Climate domains. He has successfully delivered large-scale programs for global clients – both in the public and private sector. He has worked across roles in Strategy, Program Management, Technology Development and Roll-out, Policy Advocacy, and so on. His hands-on experience with Agriculture at grass-roots level along with his experience playing the COO role in a start-up allows his to straddle the entire length and breadth of management consulting, to deliver tangible impact.

At Primus Partners, Ram works on the areas of Agriculture and Climate. He works closely with Government bodies in designing and rolling out programs for sustainable development of the society and economy, including areas such as policy development, defining taxonomies, monitoring and auditing green activities, forest development, sustainable fishing, and so on. He is also involved in engagements around arranging financing for community development, livelihood improvement, etc.

His engagements with central and state governments involve extensive stakeholder collaboration, ensuring holistic and impactful policy execution. His expertise has been instrumental in gathering support for nascent, climate-smart industries needing government aid. He also helps private companies define their sustainability goals, manage their net-zero progress, and comply with relevant regulatory guidelines.

Prior to his role at Primus, Ram was closely associated with Agritech and Sustainability domains for 7+ years. He has helped farmers get access to credit, increase their income, improve soil health, and reduce usage of chemicals and water on fields. He has serviced with some of the largest Food retail and Agriculture businesses in India – e.g. Olam, Amazon, Zomato, Reliance Retail, etc. He has used AI and deep tech to reduce food loss across the supply chain. He is an investor in start-ups such as Zypp, BluSmart. His strong network in the start-up ecosystem gives him a ringside view of investor interests as well as technological innovations, when it comes to sustainability and carbon reduction.

Prior to his start-up days, he worked for 16 years in a mix of consulting and analytics roles. He has delivered large-scale-SAP projects for some of the largest PSUs as well as private organisations. He has built and sold SaaS products in the Analytics space, and led 300+ team members in a service delivery role. He started his career at PwC.

He did his MBA from MDI Gurgaon, and Mechanical Engineering from DCE.
